Description
Lost in history, the past lives of this house, completely remodeled in 2001, with architectural design, it is said that it was originally a religious building, which was eventually integrated into the civil part of the village. The historical rurality of the house, which has a typically Alentejo Patio, still with reference to the Moorish patios, coexists with many contemporary notes, which give it a unique character and uniqueness. The deep remodeling project, which included plumbing and electrical, kept the soul of the house, through the use of old construction techniques, and some of the original materials. Original walls were kept as decorative objects, as well as arches, vaulted ceilings, or handmade donkey brick. The marble from Vila Viçosa is also present in the decoration and actual floor of the social part of the house.
With a special harmony, the house counts on distinct right feet and different sidewalks, along the divisions The logic of the house organization is previous to the concept of the corridor, and kept the logic of the manor houses (in which some rooms lead to others, in a circular form) With a gross private area of 195 m2, and an integral land area of 30 m2, it has 9 rooms, distributed as follows: On the 1st floor: - Entrance hall - Dining room, with floor fireplace - Reading room, with access by stairs to the terrace - Social bathroom - Complete bathroom, with bathtub - Equipped kitchen, with pantry and access to the Patio - Patio with an orange tree, living space, covered dining space and a small kitchen with barbecue - Children's bedroom (double-height ceilings) - Main living room (double height), with access to two bedrooms and stairs to the attic - Master bedroom - Guest bedroom On the 2nd floor (use of attic): - Attic transformed into Atelier/office, with fireplace and access to Terrace - Terrace - Closed storage area Located on a 1st floor, in the heart of the village, in one of its main streets, Florbela Espanca Street, which connects the Republic Square to the Ducal Palace of Vila Viçosa.
Gorgeous house in a beautiful part of the Alentejo, the southern region of Portugal, full of olive groves, sheep and goats, and the most amazing wine. The house is near Evora, the capital of the region which is a very well booted town by international and local tourists. The region is sunny and peaceful, close to the beautiful beaches of Costa Vincentina.
